The Tilson House is styled from ceiling to floor before your first guest arrives. Draped ivory walls, glass chandeliers, soft oak chiavari chairs, and a soft lounge for the mom-to-be or bride-to-be. You bring the guest of honor, the gifts, and the people who love her.
We host one shower at a time, so the room, the parking, and the attention are all yours for the length of your block.
Step outside to a private courtyard under a grand magnolia, strung with soft café lights. Draped cocktail tables, candlelit lanterns, and a cushioned lounge make it the place for welcome drinks, golden hour photos, and the moments between toasts.
The Magnolia Garden is available only as an add-on to one of our packages, on Saturdays and Sundays. It is not rented on its own.

With Latin roots, the Cuadra family grew up celebrating everything. Birthday bashes on a random Tuesday. Family, friends, and loud music filling every room. And Año Nuevo, decorated so over the top that today it would have gone viral on social media. The Cuadras know how to party, and they do it in style.
It all began in the early '80s, decorating the grandparents' brownstone in Chicago, where every holiday was a reason to transform the house. Since then, they have cultivated more than pretty decor and the right ambiance. They have created an experience rooted in culture, love, and the details that make guests feel at home the moment they walk in.
Over the years that has meant Havana Nights dance parties under the stars with live music, and intimate catered dinners with Tulum feels. Now The Tilson House brings all of those flavors together, for you and yours.

Walk the room, sit in the lounge, and step out into The Magnolia Garden before you book. Tours begin November 15, take about 20 minutes, and are free.
I had my wedding shower at Tilson House and was blown away by how beautifully the space was transformed. The studio was turned into such an elegant, intimate setting that felt absolutely perfect for celebrating with my closest friends and family. There was plenty of room to comfortably accommodate everyone, while still feeling warm and personal. The setup and attention to detail truly made the event feel special! My friends and family couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful everything looked, and I had multiple guests asking who did the decorating because they wanted to use the Tilson House for their own future events. I couldn’t recommend this venue and Lorett more. She truly exceeded any expectation I could have imagined and made my wedding shower so memorable!
I loved celebrating my intimate birthday at The Tilson House. My favorite part was how my guests and I felt like we had escaped to a secret tropical getaway, not Houston. Just a twenty-minute drive, and I was in my own mini paradise with vibes giving full Tulum. Highly recommend!

Book a DateSaturday and Sunday blocks book first, especially in spring and fall. Events end by 9:00 pm Thursday and Friday, and by 10:00 pm Saturday and Sunday. Pick a time on the calendar to hold your date, and we will follow up within one business day to collect your deposit and confirm your package.
Your package hours are your guests’ time. Our team sets up before you arrive and resets after you leave. Need a different start time? We have flexibility depending on the day, so reach out and we will work with your schedule.

Every booking is confirmed with a signed rental agreement. Here is what it covers.
The Tilson House is a 21 and over venue. Every guest must be at least 21 years old.
A 50% deposit and a signed rental agreement hold your date. The remaining balance and the security deposit (15% of your total rental) are due 14 days before your event.
Cancel 60 or more days before your event and your deposit can be moved to a new date within 12 months. Cancellations made less than 60 days out forfeit the deposit. Payments are non-refundable within 14 days of the event.
You may reschedule once, at no charge, with at least 30 days notice, subject to availability.
Your security deposit, 15% of your total rental, is returned within 7 days after your event once we check the room. The cost of any broken items or damage to the property is deducted from it.
The hours in your package are for you and your guests. Our team sets up before your block and resets after it. Events end by 9:00 pm Thursday and Friday and by 10:00 pm Saturday and Sunday, and guests and vendors leave by the end of the block.
Alcohol may only be served by a TABC-certified bartender. No self-serve alcohol is permitted.
Freestanding decor only. No outside balloons (balloon styling is available through us), confetti, glitter, rice, nails, tape, or adhesives on walls or drapes. Candles must be in glass holders.
Caterers, bartenders, and other vendors must be licensed and provide proof of insurance before your event.
